Organization of NANOHARD scientific events started in 2005 at the support of the European Commission, Project INCO-CT-2005-016805 RTCNANOHARD. Two international workshops and one conference have been carried out since 2005.

The scope of NANOHARD 2009 covers subjects related to the development, properties and methods for characterisation of nanostructured materials, thin films, hard and superhard coatings. Researchers, students and specialists actively engaged or interested in these fields are encouraged to attend NANOHARD 2009 and papers in the conference subjects are solicited. Engineers and specialists of companies interested in the industrial application of the hard and superhard coatings are kindly invited to participate.
